See sample pairing menu below for a taste of what’s to come at the BVBrewscene Craft Beer Weekend!
Victory Brewing Company
Braumeister Pils – Kellerbier / Zwickelbier
Sautéed Exotic Mushrooms and beef with brandy demi in puff pastry
Pairing Notes: With all the savoriness packed into this puff pastry, you’re going to want a beer that was brewed the same way! Kellerbier traditionally an unfiltered and unpasteurized beer leaves the final lagered product cloudy and rich in yeast goodness, but smooth enough to keel out all the packed flavors of your first bite!
Locust Lane Craft Brewery
BaltNick Porter – Baltic Porter
Hickory smoked pork sliders w/ cucumber pineapple slaw, Chesco BBQ sauce
Pairing Notes: With hints of raisin, licorice, coffee, and chocolate, this Baltic Porter is sure to dance with the smoked flavors from the hickory bbq, but even more so the cucumber pineapple slaw. Expect it to add a smooth malted balance to a smoky-sweet slider.
La Cabra Brewing
Eloise – Belgian Tripel
Roasted Crispy Duck Wing dressed in a sweet and spicy Gable sauce
Pairing Notes: The spices and game flavor of duck promise an explosion of contrast with the sweet and fruity esters on this Belgian Tripel.
Birra Di Levante – Pilsner
Thai Chicken Taco w/ caramelized onions & poblanos, peanut-plantain crumbs, spicy chile aioli, charred scallions, creamy cilantro slaw
Pairing Notes: When you have a dish with the complexity of sweet, spicy, and smokey all in one, sometimes simple is best. Birra Di Levante is going to smooth out the spice from the spicy chile aioli, and provide just enough bitterness and crisp bottom-fermented finish to rinse the smokey poblano from your pallet, getting you ready for that next bite!
