NYC Brew Tour FAQs

What is your COVID-19 reopening plan?

You can read about our COVID-19 reopening plan here.

What is the cancellation, rescheduling, refund policy?

Our cancellation policy for Public Tours is as follows:

  • Less than 24 hours: No date changes or refunds, fully-transferable
  • Less than 7 calendar days: 50% refund, date changes permitted after paying $35PP rescheduling fee
  • At least 1 week before tour:  Full refund

No date changes can be made within 24 hours of scheduled tour, but tickets are fully-transferable to another party, just provide them the first and last name on your booking and they may attend in your place.

Could my tour be cancelled?

Not likely, but it is possible. In the event of severe weather or a lack of tour-goers, the tour may be canceled.

In the event of inclement weather, the decision to cancel will be made by Brew Tours Staff at least 12 hours before the start of the tour. If roads are fair and our brewery partners are open, we make every effort to run our tours as scheduled.  Should you wish to reschedule due to inability to travel during the inclement weather, please give us a call at 347-429-8687 to discuss your options; a fee may apply if your tour was still scheduled to operate.

Tours could also be canceled if the following three COVID-19 metrics are not met:

  • State guidelines allow for our brewery affiliates to allow on-site consumption.
  • The state continues to show a published, downward trajectory in new cases over a 14-day period.
  • The percentage of positive tests compared to total tests averages less than 15% within a specified region across a period of 14 days.
Where do your tours pick up?

Our Brooklyn Underground Tour begins at Circa Brewing, 141 Lawrence St, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in with your guide.

Our Brewing in Queens Walking Tour begins at Vernon Mall located at 50-11 Vernon Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11101. The nearest public transit is The Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave subway stop on the IRT Flushing Line. Please arrive 15 minutes early at 2:45 pm To check with your guide. The tour will proceed north walking a total of 1 mile to 1.5 miles (route dependent) visiting 3 brewery locations.

Why do I have to wear closed-toed shoes?

All guests must wear closed-toe shoes to participate in the tour. This is a safety precaution that the breweries themselves are required to enforce, therefore, no exceptions can be made. If you are taking a tour during the summer months, please plan accordingly.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to offer our tour options that include a full meal. For the time being, public tours include a pretzel snack, and private tours have the option to add a selection of cheeses.

A note on gluten: Typically, beer is not gluten-free. Some of our tour stops do from time to time offer gluten-free options, however, we cannot guarantee their availability. Gluten-free guests should consider our non-drinker ticket, so they can purchase cider or gluten-free beer when available.

Am I able to choose all of the beers on my tour?

No need to worry about choosing your beers at each stop. You’ll receive a handpicked selection of local craft beer curated by our beer expert guides.

What is your tour minimum?

In order for us to run a tour, we need a minimum of 4 participants.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes! You can purchase a specific tour gift voucher, or select a dollar amount to give. Check out our Gift Certificates page for more information.

What is the difference between the public and private tour?

We offer 2 different public tours which you can read more about here. Because private tours are personalized, there is a sliding scale of differences between them vs. public tours. Generally, we suggest private tours for corporate events, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and other groups of over 10 guests. You can read more about our private tours here.

I paid for my booking, but have not received a confirmation email.

If you have not received an email from us, be sure to check your spam folder. Our emails are automated and will sometimes slip past your inbox. If it is not in spam, you can reach out to us by phone or email and we will happily send you your confirmation again.

What is included in the confirmation email?

The details of your reservation, the pick up and drop off location for the tour, the tour itinerary, and information regarding our policies.

Can I reschedule my tour date?

Any date changes that are made less than 7 days before your tour will be subject to a $35pp rescheduling fee. No date changes can be made less than 24 hours before a tour.

Do I need to print out my confirmation email/how do I print my ticket?

You can simply show up to the pick-up spot a few minutes early, with a valid form of ID and closed-toe shoes. You do not need a physical ticket or to print out your confirmation email, just give your name to the guide!

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Many of our stops are wheelchair accessible. Our tours include walking 1-1.5 miles for the Brewing in Queens Walking Tour, and the Brooklyn Underground Tour includes using the subway system.

Can someone under 21 attend?

You must be 21 or older and show proper identification in order to participate in our tour, even if you’ve purchased a non-drinker ticket.

Should I tip my guide?

We often include prepaid gratuity for parties of 4 or more. If you think your guide did a great job, we suggest tipping $15 per person.
