Portland Brew Tour FAQs

[/accordion]

What is the cancellation, rescheduling, refund policy?

We operate rain, shine, and snow as long as the roads are safe and we have met our minimum to run the tour.

Changes and cancellations are free up to 72 hours before the tour. Ticket insurance allows you to make changes or cancel up to 3 hours before the tour, and we will reschedule or reimburse you for your full tour ticket price (minus the booking fee and insurance fee). Insurance can only be purchased when making your initial reservation, and cannot be added after the fact.

Is beer included?

You know it! We provide plenty of beer on each and every one of our tours. Trust us– you won’t be thirsting for more.

Can I drink on the bus?

No open alcohol containers are allowed on the bus. If you decide to open an alcoholic beverage, you will be asked to leave the tour. We do have storage available on the bus for any purchases for later consumption that you make along the tour, though.

Could my tour be cancelled?

Not likely, but it is possible. In the event of severe weather or a lack of tour-goers, the tour may be canceled.

In the event of inclement weather, the decision to cancel will be made by Brew Tours Staff at least 12 hours before the start of the tour. If roads are fair and our brewery partners are open, we make every effort to run our tours as scheduled.  If you are unable to travel due to inclement weather, please give us a call at856-263-2337 to discuss your options. We will not be able to issue full refunds without the purchase of ticket insurance, but we may be able to find you another tour option in the future.

Where do your tours pick up?

Our public tours include pick up/drop off service at the Mt Hood Brewing Company (401 SE Caruthers) promptly at pick up time. Don’t be the late party pooper- if you miss the bus you’ll have to arrange transportation to the 1st location.

Why do I have to wear closed-toed shoes?

All guests must wear closed-toe shoes to participate in the tour. This is a safety precaution that the breweries themselves are required to enforce, therefore, no exceptions can be made. If you are taking a tour during the summer months, please plan accordingly.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes, we can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Please inform us regarding the nature of your restrictions when booking your tour!

A note on gluten: Typically, beer is not gluten-free. Some of our tour stops do from time to time offer gluten-free options, however, we cannot guarantee their availability. Gluten-free guests should consider our non-drinker ticket, so they can purchase cider or gluten-free beer when available.

Am I able to choose all of the beers on my tour?

No need to worry about choosing your beers at each stop. You’ll receive a handpicked selection of local craft beer curated by our beer expert guides.

What is your tour minimum?

In order for us to run a tour, we need a minimum of 2 participants.

What hotels are nearby?

That info will be coming soon!

What is the difference between the public and private tour?

We offer 2 different public tours which you can read more about here. Because private tours are personalized, there is a sliding scale of differences between them vs. public tours. Generally, we suggest private tours for corporate events, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and other groups of over 10 guests. You can read more about our private tours here.

I paid for my booking but have not received a confirmation email.

If you have not received an email from us, be sure to check your spam folder. Our emails are automated and will sometimes slip past your inbox. If it is not in spam, you can reach out to us by phone or email and we will happily send you your confirmation again.

What is included in the confirmation email?

The details of your reservation, the pick up and drop off location for the tour, the tour itinerary, and information regarding our policies.

Where should I park?

Ride like the Portlanders do and use public transportation to get to the pickup location– plus it’s a great way to avoid driving after your tour. Use Trimet.org to plan your trip! If you do drive, you can park in the lot under the bridge if you visit our friends at the Oregon Rail Museum either before or after your tour.

There is also plenty of street parking around Mt. Hood Brewing, but please take note of parking laws and enforcement.

We also offer a custom pick up/drop off option for $30 additional for locations within 3 miles of Pioneer Square. Select as an “extra” during booking and be ready 1 hour prior to tour time.

How do I make a reservation? Do I have to book in advance?

Yes, you must book in advance. Online registration for public tours closes 3 hours prior to tour time but give us a ring if you’d like to book. Private tours require more time – a minimum of 1 week prior to your respective tour date but the more time we have, the better. A 25% deposit is required to reserve your date and the remaining balance is due 72 hours prior to tour time. Email [email protected] for more info.

Can I reschedule my tour date?

Changes and cancellations are free up to 72 hours before the tour. Ticket insurance allows you to make changes or cancel up to 3 hours before the tour, and we will reschedule or reimburse you for your full tour ticket price (minus the booking fee and insurance fee). Insurance can only be purchased when making your initial reservation, and cannot be added after the fact.

Do I need to print out my confirmation email/how do I print my ticket?

You can simply show up to the pick-up spot a few minutes early, with a valid form of ID and closed-toe shoes. You do not need a physical ticket or to print out your confirmation email, just give your name to the guide!

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes! You can purchase a specific tour gift voucher, or select a dollar amount to give. Check out our Gift Certificates page for more information.

Is my information protected?

Our privacy policy states that we will only use your personal information (contact info, name, credit card info) for booking the tour and reasons related to tour operations. We do not store credit card info or share any personal information with other parties.

Can you accommodate guests with disabilities?

Everyone (over 21 years old) is welcome on a BREWVANA tour! We do require notification of any disabilities and special requests when booking, we have one bus that is handicap accessible. Please call us to accommodate.

Can someone under 21 attend?

You must be 21 or older and show proper identification in order to participate in our tour, even if you’ve purchased a non-drinker ticket.

Should I tip my guide?

We often include prepaid gratuity for parties of 4 or more. If you think your guide did a great job, we suggest tipping $15 per person.
