Oliver Breweries was born in 1993 in the basement of a brewpub in downtown Baltimore. The original brewing equipment was brought over from the U.K. with the aim of creating authentic English-style ales. An eclectic team of beer enthusiasts, who can usually be found rocking out to ear-piercing metal (that’s their jam), have since created hundreds of beers paying homage to English traditions with interesting American twists.
As one of Baltimore’s original craft breweries, they’re always pushing the boundaries with new styles, ingredients, and flavors. Steve Jones, Head Brewer (and avid Kiss Fan – he wanted us to note that) is the quintessential Brit, rarely seen in the brewhouse without a nice cup of Earl Grey and a chocolate hobnob (we have no idea what that is either). But his roots in fine English cask ales at Firkin Brewery in the midlands of England have given us every reason to trust whatever this brewing mastermind churns out. Let our guides lure you into Steve’s sudsy lair as you sip his bountiful brews and learn more about his plans to expand his artisan ales to the masses. Because, let’s face it, everyone should have access to good beer.
