Big Storm is another big entry for brewing in Tampa, serving up popular tropical treats like the Bromosa Tangerine IPA and Tropic Pressure Golden Ale since 2012. The founder, Mike Bishop, learned about brewing beer firsthand from volunteering at the Dunedin Brewery, the oldest microbrewery in Florida.
From there, Bishop opened Big Storm with his old high school football coach, Leo Govoni. Big Storm has since grown fast, operating five taprooms across central and south Florida. Inspired by the stormy tropical flavors Florida is known for, Big Storm’s beers deliver complex tastes that go down easy. But they’re not done yet. Big Storm opened their distillery in 2020 and now offers a variety of spirits like vodka, rum, and bourbon to the discerning imbiber.
